Dreamers Education™

Adolescence is a critical period in a young person’s development. The growth and challenges can be incredibly rewarding but are also complex. Keeping up with rigorous academic schedules and goals, thriving in myriad co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, coming to terms with critical physiological and emotional changes, and managing the complexities of teenage social dynamics, all while going through the college application process can be daunting for even the most well-adjusted young adults

I work with high school students and families from India and the diaspora to identify and frame their goals for university and their careers. Based on a student’s unique talents, interests, and personalities, I map out a broad framework for success and advise and support them to achieve these. I am committed to providing clear and actionable guidance to clients that is appropriate for their context, and to helping them achieve these in a step-wise manner through weekly check-ins and a customized approach that suits their learning and project-management style

My students consistently remark positively on the freedom, intellectual robustness, and sense of inquiry within sessions. Being treated as equals during the conversation makes them feel respected and valued while encouraging their sense of agency and providing a space to bring forth their distinct insights and solutions. This rigorously introspective approach is reflected in the authenticity and quality of essays that my students write for their university applications, a vital life skill that they will repeatedly use while preparing for further study and work

"I worked with Srijan towards two completely different college applications over two years. We first worked on Computer Science applications for colleges in Canada, Australia, India and Hong Kong, and I got into several universities with his help. However, I changed my mind and decided to work towards pursuing Music (Music Production and Drum Set Performance). We then worked on Music applications for colleges in USA, and I got accepted into Berklee College of Music with a scholarship.

Srijan was very helpful throughout this admission process, narrowing down colleges, helping me with my essays (Artist Statement, Common App Essay, individual college essays) and strengthening my application overall. The college application process is very confusing and often overwhelming, and Srijan really helped me out well.

I just graduated Berklee College of Music a couple months back, and I am very glad to have decided to take the path of Music. I learned so much throughout my four years there that I can confidently do numerous kinds of professional music work ranging from music production to composition to audio engineering to playing drums."

My Story

I grew up as a rootless cosmopolitan, living and learning in 10 cities across 4 continents for the first 22 years of my life. Since settling in India 13 years ago, I have served young Indians by counseling 200+ applicants to secure admissions at top global universities; organizing educational workshops at 100+ college/university campuses across the country; and exploring the potential of blended learning to mainstream higher education

Passionate about a learner-centred approach to pedagogy, I have facilitated 1000+ hours of Socratic Dialogues on topics ranging from economics, philosophy, politics, literature, history, law, and the natural sciences. Learning to manage two chronic mental and physical health conditions since high school, I have realized the importance of emotional and physical well-being to the development of a productive and meaningful life

A favorite amongst my many motivations for serving young adults: "The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, we must think anew and act anew. We must dis-enthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country." Abraham Lincoln, 1862 address to US Congress; borrowed from the late great Ken Robinson's TED presentation, Bring on the Learning Revolution!
